Star Trek The Original Series for Solo Ukulele
This is an all time classic. Love or hate Star Trek, it’s hard to deny that this is a catchy little piece. Did you know the original has lyrics? I bet you did.
What This Song Can Teach You –
- Play in the key of C.
- This is hard. Give yourself a huge challenge.
- Play a famous melody.
- How to bring inter planetary species together as one .
You have two versions here. If I were you I’d begin with that lead sheet. You know that I love the campanella style so I’ve tried to make the most of that on the first page but then changed back to standard for page two. Compare them both and send me the results in graph form by next Tuesday. In the video I originally attempted to stick to campanella but sadly my fingers kept failing me. Hence the cheats.
Next you’ll want to have a look at that solo sheet. Phew! This is hard. I’ve tried to stick to the melody and have added some funky strumming rhythms in between. I’m afraid I reach all the way up the neck for this one. I even hit fret 14. Did you even know your uke can do this? A soprano can’t of course but you could either go down the neck to fret 2 or try to bend the note. Good luck with this one.
