Pink – Just Give Me A Reason for Ukulele – Banjo and Baritone Uke Special!
I hated this song when I first heard it. I found it to be trite and predictable. The lyrics seemed cringeworthy lyrics and it featured the most embarrassing delivery by a male singer I’ve heard in a long time. And then I heard it again. And again. And again…Now I can’t get rid of it. It’s in my head, singing that catchy melody over and over. I love that melody. I love that it’s so predictable. I love those lyrics and that guy’s voice is heavenly. I’ve been assimilated. I may need help.
You’ll notice 2 different videos here. The first is played on my trustworthy tenor banjo, which is tuned like a traditional baritone uke to DGBE. This is similar to the four smallest strings on that guitar you never play. The second is on my brand new Lanikai baritone uke, tuned to dGBE. I don’t much care for baritones with their low D string. Re-entrant is much more fun, hence the need to put a little g on mine.
The good news for you is that you’ll still be able to play my version on your normal uke and possibly cobble together one on your baritone uke. As ever, I have done two versions. One is simply for solo uke and t’other features a cheeky little vocal line melody. Let me know how you get on.

Some Uke Things
Do you like the Ukulele? Really? Wow! So do I. Look what I found.
Do you know of KYAS? This guy…this guy is perhaps the best ukulele player I’ve seen. Just browse that channel and try not to drool. He’s done a cool version of Bad Romance. So have I but I’m worried about showing it to you now.
Ondrej Sarek is a prolific ukebookwriter. He’s just released a new one with a few Jewish songs in. I own one of his classical books and it’s good. I shall check this one out soon. In the meantime, I’ll play my own.
