I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus – Ukulele

It’s taken me years to understand the meaning of this song. I originally thought that mommy was kissing a father dressed up as Santa. Now I understand she was just busy kissing anyone she could find dressed as Santa. Incidentally, this is also how I spend my Christmas season. Yo! Ho? Ho.

What This Piece Can Teach You –

  • Make the most of simple open chords.
  • Chord melody style.
  • Play at a speed that’s good for you.
  • How to kiss strangers.

I’m nice to you. I don’t know why. I’ve done two versions of this for you. A lead sheet and a chord melody. Why not play along with someone else as a duet? Do you like duets? I like duets.

I think if you take your time you’ll not struggle too much with this one. There’s a good handful of familiar chords and maybe a little tricky barre chord slide but just grab yourself some eggnog (whatever that is) and relax your way into it. I’d love to hear your versions of this by the way. Do you have a youtube? Link me. I’m yours.
