Learn to Play ‘Bad Romance’ – Lady Gaga Ukulele Tabs
Love her or hate her, Lady Gaga certainly writes catchy tunes. Although not up to the standard of classic TV themes such as this or this, this song is still a worthy addition to your ukulele playing arsenal. In fact, it’s not even a TV theme at all is it? Don’t worry though, normal service will be resumed soon. Cheers anyone?
What this song can teach you –
- Play Ukulele in the key of A minor
- Experiment with various barre chords
- Play a melody on both little strings
- Good work out for the right hand thumb
- How to be both bad and romantic
My arrangement attempts to make the most of the ukulele neck and the campanella style. Watch out for plenty of string skipping and some high up the neck chords, such as that lovely E7 to Am movement. This song is full of riffs, my favourite being the gobbledegooked section from bar 10 (raaam ahhh oooh la laaa). I have notated a few ideas on the tab but also played this differently in the video. You may also want to try those little melody notes on the 9th and 10th frets of the g string. When the verse kicks in be prepared to have your thumb ready to attack those melody notes on the g string.
As ever, there are 2 versions for you. Only you. Not him. The solo version is the most difficult and a beginner should be able to find their way around the ‘lead’ sheet as long as you have a good grasp of the melody line.
Have you noticed that this update was a little late? I’ve been busy you see. I’ve been working at revising a few of my ebooks and updating some site layout. In particular, my Ukulele eBooks page. Still a little further to go but I’m getting there. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for further improvements and…wait for it…3 new books! What will they be? Only one way to find out!Grab The Tab! Grab The Tab!
